Wired Like Me

Bascially this is just a page of some of the crazy (and some not so crazy) ideas that go through my head on a daily basis. I, like many young developers out there often get too many projects going on at once. And without the proper capital, spending too much time on any project that doesn’t pay the bills just doesn’t make cents (pun intended). So here is a list of some of the things I have either done or worked on in the past few years as well as some ideas I will work on at some point in the future.

A website that combines all your favorite media related sites (with API’s of course) like FLICKR,YOUTUBE,FACEBOOK,etc. and gives suggestions on what to look at or what to watch based on your past uses of each. (currently in development of site as well as samsung tv app)

An online storage company that works more like a personal filing cabinet. (including the option for you to mail your paper documents in and have us scan them and add them to your files) with a simple UX environment and friendly customer service so even the simplest of computer users could get rid of clutter. (Still in the works- Funding Stage)

A company that does what some large companies like iron mountain already offer but with a different concept. Basically, we come in, Scan all your paper files, process all your electronic files and merge it all together in Archives of your choice sorted logically (yearly, monthly, by client, by project, etc.) on Hard drives that are indexed and searchable. We will keep one copy at our secured location, one copy on our secured servers if you so desire and one copy will go back to the customer complete with a user friendly interface to search ALL your documents. (Still in the funding stages as well)

A user-friendly tool for creating databases that are easily compatible with Sharepoint and SQL via direct export As someone who has spent a LOT of time in and around databases I understand all too well how much a truly easy to understand User-environment (UX) would help the business world with becoming more organized. Sure its nice to have guys like me who charge a hefty fee to create your database and then in some cases even host it on our own servers. But what if we could create one with such an environment that a 5 day class wasn’t the necessity and it was essentially so simple to use that you could literally change the way people do business and the way companies organize information. There are several companies who have tried this and I believe some are close, however having spent the past 5 years database consulting for people who range from everyday blue collar workers all the way up to high priced attorneys and large scale (more than 1,000 employees) organizations, I feel I have a unique outlook on what is needed in this area and I know that with the proper amount of time (and money) I could no doubt make this a reality. (I have all of this typed out into a neat business plan packet – but that is truly about as far as it has gone)

So as you can probably tell, I am not your average 23 year old, however I’m not entirely certain what average really is. I am just a young guy with a passion for technology and a desire to help people work faster and more efficiently. If that makes me money, Great! If it costs me money, thats ok too!
